Template:Wikify There Is a Chain Letter Going Around the Internet, and is popping up in places about a new Mercedes Benz SCL600 car, where the standard driving wheel is replaced with a joystick. I've not confirmed this with Mercedes, but my suspicion is it is urban legend. The pictures are computer generated and most likely produced on a free copy of Blender (software).

First of all, a joystick controlled car would suffer from feedback problems due to difference of sensitivity between a joystick and a steering wheel, least of which would make avoiding accidents, maintaining proper alignment with other vehicles, nearly impossible. A better solution would be to make the joystick smaller and detachable, but not wireless (imagine radio intereference causing one to wreck).

This is a concept car from 1996.
