Mercedes-Benz W212
From Mercedes Wiki
Codenamed W212, the next-generation E-Class will arrive for the 2010 model year, with the estate version (codenamed S212) expected for 2011. It was also decided upon to rest the CLK-Class name in favour of selling it as an E-class coupe.[1] Although not much information has been offered in regards to the upcoming fifth-generation E Class, sources are speculating an increase of around 20 mm in length. That, combined with a redesigned interior, will offer a more spacious feel to the passenger compartment.
An all-new instrument cluster, along with S-Class night-vision technology and an updated COMAND system will highlight the interior changes.
Power-wise, it looks as if the full-range of Mercedes engines will be available, in diesel and petrol variants, although there may be limits in developing markets. The basic powerplant will consist of four-cylinder engines with the horsepower rating starting at 175 bhp, followed by 6 and 8 Cylinders and the performance-built AMG variant.

Official photos of the W212 have been leaked on the internet on the 10th December, 2008 ahead of its 2009 Geneva Motor Show unveiling.[2] Scans of a leaked brochure have been posted onto the internet in January 2009, detailing the whole E-Class range including the new E 200 CGI and E 230 CGI with turbocharged direct injection engines.[3]
On January 10 2009, the 2009 E class was unveiled at a private press party the night before the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. Many hi-resolution pictures were released as well as an official press release. The new E class will have many new innovations and technologies available like a speed limit spotting ability and night vision. A rear seat package will have similar amenities to that of a rear seat in the S class. The new E class will go on sale in Europe in March and in America in July.
