The Mercedes-Benz W219 Automobile began production in 2005 (though described as an 04 model). The platform is based on the W211 E-Class. It is sold as the CLS-Class "4-door coupe", although the bodystyle is properly termed a 4-door sedan, similar to the Fastback sedan designs created by Robert Opron in 1970s.

Engines


The car has a diesel engine with 165 kW (224 PS; 221 hp) in Europe and three petrol engines:
